The ASTM specification for ready mixed concrete lists 90 minutes and 90° F as limits for the delivery time and temperature.  Are these important limits or relics of a bygone era?  Can concrete be successfully transported, placed, and finished beyond these limits?  Mr. Khan will discuss changes in materials and technology that affect delivery time and temperature.

Tarek Khan is a Fellow of the American  Concrete Institute and Chairs ACI 304, “Mixing Measuring, Transporting and Placing Concrete.”  Mr. Khan is a civil engineer with 30+ years of experience helping concrete producers, engineers, architects, and contractors tackle challenging concrete construction projects.  Notably, Khan is a member of ACI committee 305 “Hot Weather Concrete” and participated in ASTM C9 “Cement and Concrete” for 20 years.  He is the Building Solutions Team Manager for BASF.
