The Florey Award

The namesake for the award, J. Robert (Bob) Florey, served as a co-chair of the successful 1971 national convention and in various positions such as executive secretary, master of ceremonies and by-laws task force. He was voted one of the eight honorary members in 1988. In 1994, a year after Florey died, Bill Deal who had worked with him at Master Builders, came to Bud Werner to initiate the award to be presented to leaders who have devoted a large share of their careers to improvement of the concrete industry.
