The use of concrete maturity has made an emergence in the construction industry for long-term concrete quality control and assurance. It has been proposed by government agencies to replace quality control / assurance programs, that employ compressive / flexural strength of concrete specimens, with concrete maturity. The purpose of this presentation is to:

  • Highlight the history and importance of concrete maturity
  • Identify the current state-of-the-practice for establishing maturity curves in the laboratory and field
  • Review the advantages / disadvantages with concrete maturity
The presentation will also cover the many different types of devices currently available to establish maturity curves for quality control / assurance purposes.
